Titanium_Core theme question?
by NukeSheriff Sat Aug 27, 2022 2:47 pm

Hey,

My theme is working but I have this mysterious 4 blank lines when I go to source view.

Do you think you could get rid of the 4 blank lines? I'm OCD as phuck and it is driving me crazy!

Titanium_Core theme question?
by TheGhost Sun Aug 28, 2022 11:04 am

Yea it is kind of haunting as we can't seem to figure out why they are there either. At some point someone narrowed it down to the actual theme load.

Makes no sense as I have looked over every line of code and yet to find the culprit...

If you figure it out please do let me know as it has driven me nuts forever now!

Each theme has its own mimetype when it loads. This is used to allow themes written in XHTML or HTML4

The themes when they load change the core HTML version or XHTML version on the fly. People said it could not be done but I did it. Even some of the best seasoned programmers on Stack Overflow could not fathom the idea of a CMS supporting multiple browser mimetypes. The concept is not very easily understood.

In one of the very 1st versions of Nuke Evolution Basic someone wrote a file loader for mimtype.php that would load from the includes folder and it loaded XHTML mimetypes which changed the header from XHTML to Traditional to Strict or even Math etc but I never saw any place in the code where it actually controlled the doctype mode. Code was there but it was manualiiy selected via code by editing the mimetype.php file.

In PHP-Nuke Titanium we pass off the file loader to the themes/SOME_THEME_NAME/includes dir and it sets the mimetype when the them is changed or selected.

Some people call this a hack but it isn't, it's quite pretty and it works well.
